Terms of service
Last updated 7 November 2026
These terms cover your use of Scoothost, a managed hosting service run by Tortoiz Themes (“we”, “us”). By joining Scoothost you agree to them.
The service
Scoothost hosts static websites built on Tortoiz Themes and looks after them for you. Membership is by invitation, and we may decline any request.
What’s included in your plan is described on the membership page at the time you join. Work outside your plan, such as new pages or a redesign, is quoted and agreed separately.
Your content
You own your content and your domain. You give us permission to store, copy and publish your content only to provide the service. You’re responsible for having the rights to everything you ask us to publish, and for it following our acceptable use policy.
Payments
Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record and issues your invoices. Managed hosting renews automatically each month or year until you cancel. Refunds are covered by our refund policy.
If a payment fails, we’ll tell you and keep your site online for 14 days. After that we may take it offline until the account is brought up to date.
Cancelling and leaving
You can cancel at any time. Your plan runs until the end of the period you’ve paid for. When you leave, we hand your site over to you: either by moving its repository to your own GitHub account, or by sending you a complete copy.
We may end the service with 30 days’ notice, or immediately if the acceptable use policy is broken. Either way, we’ll give you a copy of your site.
Availability
We use reliable infrastructure and work to keep your site online, but we can’t promise it will never be unavailable. We aren’t liable for indirect losses, such as lost profit, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we’ll email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India.
