Acceptable use policy

Last updated 7 November 2026

Scoothost hosts every client’s site on shared infrastructure. One site breaking the rules can affect everyone, so these rules apply to every site we host.

Not allowed

  • Anything illegal where you or your visitors are.
  • Phishing, scams, or pages pretending to be another person or business.
  • Malware, or files meant to harm visitors’ devices.
  • Content you don’t have the rights to, such as copied text, photos or software.
  • Sexual content involving minors, content promoting violence or hatred, or harassment of anyone.
  • Using the site to send spam, or to host files for other services to download in bulk.

Static sites only

Scoothost serves websites made of static files. It isn’t file storage, a backup service or a place to run server software.

What we do if something’s wrong

If we find a problem, we’ll usually contact you first and ask for it to be fixed. If the content is harmful or illegal, we may take the site offline straight away and tell you afterwards.

Reporting a problem

If you see a site hosted by Scoothost that breaks these rules, please email hello@scoothost.com.
